Baby Time

Started redoing my oldest's baby book. Loved the new lines by My Mind's Eye so had to use some of them to create this page. Also used the Sew Easy Ribbon Tool to sew a ribbon border around the photo.
Oh, and at the bottom I just realized I put an '&' instead of at... oy. Back to the drawing board to fix!

Chin Up!

Chin up! Winter will soon come to a close. The warmer weather has improved my spirits and well, scrapbooking can do that for me as well.
The following layout uses some old Basic Grey papers. The flowers were made with the use of an article in Scrapbooks Etc. magazine.

CHA and New Releases

Looking forward to having lots of new stuff in the store. Ralna is going down to California to see the new products in person at the CHA trade show next week. Here is a website with an index of 'sneak peaks' from some of the major manufacturers.

Sorry For the Delay

Can't believe it has been so long since I posted last. I haven't really done a whole lot of scrapbooking since before Christmas. Christmas time all I made were cards. The new year has brought two new projects - I am feeling ambitious.

1. Redo boys' baby albums. This has been on my mind for several years now. Pics are in those old sticky backed albums. The glue in them is horrible and pages/photos turn yellow over time.

2. Help revamp JSI's wedding invitation samples.

I have started on the second project already (see pics below), baby pages to follow.

Stockpile - Part Two

The Christmas Card Stockpile

I always seem to do things the difficult way. Instead picking one design and repeating, I design a whole bunch of different ones. Sigh. Goes to show you where my brain is at these days...

Tis The Season

for making Christmas cards...
I couldn't decide on one design for my cards this year. I tend to get easily distracted with new product that comes into JSI and end up making all sorts of things. :) This, from the Bobunny line: Father Christmas. Holly is handcut with stickle berries added. The design was based on a sketch from the Bobunny blog I believe. I will post more cards later this week, till then happy crafting!

A little reminder of summer ...

With all the snow this morning I thought a little reminder that Saskatchewan can actually be warm and inviting was needed. Layout uses papers from Fancy Pants.

Zipper Flowers

Who would've thought you could make a flower out of a zipper?

JSI has even has zipper 'ribbon' by Maya Road. I coloured the ribbon using various colours of Perfect Pearls and then went to:

to make the flower. Give it a try!

p.s. Happy Halloween

A Sweet Card

Based on an idea I saw in a magazine - Beautiful Cards maybe? I know, I have to get better at writing down sources. Used real lifesavers. I challenge you to make a sweet card by using real candy and send me a pic. Have a lovely day!

Happy Thanksgiving

A belated Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

This past weekend involved a bit of work at JSI, a little bit of football on Saturday, and a whole lot of turkey on Sunday. We got to spend part of the weekend up at the cabin and the weather for the most part was awesome. Most of the leaves are gone now so glad I was able to catch this picture a few weeks ago of our place aka our treasure.

Note: materials used were from the Bo Bunny Forever Fall Collection.

I'm bacccckkkkk!

Well, after a long absence I now have incentive to make regular contributions to my blog. My boss Ralna at 'Just Scrap It' here in Saskatoon has recently added my blog address to our site. Yikes! It is hoped I would inspire others to come in to the store and make some cards and pages. So, here goes...

Card using tim holtz die, stickles, a little texture template, and a scrap of patterned paper that was under the counter. :) The label is meant to be 'wet' looking. No, did not spill my drink on it.

Till next time ...

I knew it was too good to be true ...

Spring on the prairies is always an adventure. This is the nice way to say 'the weather is dreadful today in Saskatchewan'. After beautiful spring temperatures the last few weeks, snow almost all gone, we get a big dump of fresh stuff. It was probably my fault anyway, I took the winter coats and boots down to the basement for storage for next winter.
On the positive side, today's weather makes me want to scrapbook - surprise, surprise.

Nice Layout

Layout (minus journaling because forgot add that in before taking pic) using Teen Angst paper pack by We Are Memory Keepers. Feel a little guilty sometimes just using materials from a single pack to do a project but you know what -- it is so easy and well, NICE. :)

Mama-razzi strikes again

Love the title of one of Bo Bunny's latest collections -- Mama-razzi. Mama (me) is always taking pictures of her innocent and unsuspecting children. The following layout is one such picture which was doctored up with a digital frame. Had this picture laying around for a couple of months, couldn't find paper that really said 'wow' to me. This, an amazing thought, given how much paper I have downstairs! Then along came good old Bo Bunny (a favourite manufacturer) whom provided me with just the right 'wow'. Check it out!

Thought for the day...

You know you are getting older when you are attracted to products that have the following in their title:

- anti-aging
- anti-wrinkle
- firming
-low fat
- low calorie
- skinny cow

Liking the Green at Heart Line of Basic Grey

Some very 'spring like' cards on a cold winter day ...

Benefits

A cool a benefit of working in a scrapbooking store is that your boss could say 'here is pile of new papers from Basic Grey, create something with them would u?' How could I say no to that?
